Concurrently, Kathy’s solo career expanded to include half-hour comedy series for ABC, NBC and CBS, one-hour dramas for CBS, 20th Century Fox, USA Network, Sony Pictures and first-run syndication.
Along the way she has written for some of Hollywood’s top stars, including Jennifer Aniston (Ferris Bueller), Linda Lavin and Patricia Heaton (Room For Two), Melina Kanakaredes, Maria Bello and Mark Ruffalo (Due South), and Chuck Norris (Walker Texas Ranger) and James Brolin.
As an Executive Producer and series showrunner she won numerous international awards for the critically acclaimed CBS drama Due South, the first U.S. network series produced abroad.
Kathy went on to specialize in international co-productions, creating television series for broadcasters around the world, including Canada’s CBC, Canwest Television, YTV, and Family Channel; the U.K.’s Channel 4 and Fox Kids UK; France 3, Germany’s EM, and Disney International.
Kathy’s original pilot scripts include Pulling The Strings, a recording industry drama developed for James Brolin and Executive Producers Barbra Streisand and Fireworks Entertainment for VHI; Pandora’s Closet, a half-hour teen comedy series for Canada’s CBC; Indigo Blues, a one hour fantasy-drama for beCHert productions inc.; and Plunder, a unique procedural series for CBC.
In addition to her work in primetime television, Kathy develops and produces quality children’s series, both live-action and animation. Her animated adventure series, Mythic Warriors, based on classic tales from the Greek Myths, was honored by Hollywood’s prestigious Humanitas Prize committee with a nomination for Best Animated Children’s Series.
Kathy’s original screenplays include O’Reilly’s Run, a true adventure story set in Australia and G Men, a romantic comedy about three young men in search of “goddesses” in the Big Apple. Her new original feature film concept, A Shoe Story, has been accepted for development by Telefilm Canada’s Feature Film Writers First Program.
